Summer Self Esteem Challenge sponsored by Girls With Dreams

Can we count you in for our Summer Self Esteem Challenge sponsored by Girls With Dreams?   We’re reaching out to teens and women all over the globe!  We want to reach 100,000 teens and women by August 31, 2009!

  • Are you and your daugther tired of feeling the pressure to have a Perfect body?
  • Are you tired of comparing yourself and being compared to other girls or women?
  • What if girls could joing together and eliminate the pressure to be thin?

We’re definitely tired of it!  The idea for this challenge came from a recent discussion Molly and Sarah were having at school about body image.  Swimsuit season is here and it is the everpresent reminder of how  hard for girls to be happy in their body.  It’s hard to live up to the body images in TV and magazines and it’s even harder to be around a group of girls who are comparing their own beauty to each other.  The sad part about it is WE ARE ALL GUILTY!  Help us improve Self Esteem in Girls all over the world by joining our Self Esteem Challenge!

Here’s the Challenge:

  1. Next time you are in your swimsuit and you begin to look at your friends and start comparing (out loud or in your head) who has the cutest butt or great legs or flatest stomach, STOP.  STOP the talk and replace it with a compliment.
  2. Every time you find yourself thinking badly about the way you look or jealous of someone else, you agree to give yourself 1 compliment and at least 2 friends. When you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and compliment yourself.
  3. Pick one way you agree to eat healthier (Eating healthy does not mean being anoerexic!  Eating healthy might mean cutting out soda, adding more water, eating more fruits or veggies, get the idea?)
  4. Pick one form of exercise to do everyday.  It’s summer, so hopefully this won’t be too hard…swim, bike, walk, run, Roller blade, etc…
  5. Help us reach 100,000 girls by August 31, 2009.  Please share the challenge with 3 friends to we can all help improve every girl’s Self Esteem?
